1. The working principle of  wet straw biomass pellet processing equipment

The core principle of wet straw pellet processing equipment (such as wood chip pellet machines) is to convert biomass feedstock into high-density pellet fuel through mechanical compression. The basic process involves three steps: feedstock pretreatment (crushing, pulverizing, and drying), mechanical compression, and finished product processing (cooling and packaging). For example, in a ring die pellet machine, a motor is connected to a reducer via a coupling, driving the ring die. The feedstock enters the compression zone under gravity, where compression rollers squeeze the material into the ring die holes. After the pellets are formed in the die, they are cut into pellets of fixed length by a cutter.

3.Straw Dust Storage Process:

A. This process is mainly used to storage the straw dust that comes out of the hammer mill.It is hydraulic galvanized storage silo which is more stable and straw dust in it is not easy to be blocked. 

B.TONY Brand Large Hydraulic Storage Silo to storage the straw dust that comes out of  the hammer mill.This process can be optional by customer.If customer do not chose the storage bin,he can storage the sawdust on the ground directly which may need some labour.

4.Drying Process: 

A.This process is mainly used to dry the straw dust from 30-35% to 10-15%.  B.Capacity: 32-40 Ton/Hour. 

C.TONY use 6 sets of 2.5*24m rotary drum dryer for this process,TONY hot stove is made of firebrick pan, shell with H steel plate as the frame.   There are 3 layers of fire blocking device inside, which can effectively prevent the fire from entering the tumble dryer.Customers can choose to use waste wood, biomass pellets, natural gas, etc. as fuel for the hot air furnace

1. Excellent environmental performance and low carbon emissions

Carbon neutrality: Straw pellet fuel is derived from agricultural and forestry waste and is a biomass energy source. The carbon dioxide absorbed during plant growth is roughly balanced by the carbon dioxide released during combustion, making it a "carbon neutral" energy source and significantly reducing its contribution to the greenhouse effect.

Low pollutant emissions: Compared with coal, the content of pollutants such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides produced by straw pellet combustion is extremely low (usually far below environmental protection standards), and the dust emission is also low, effectively reducing air pollution and meeting the requirements of increasingly stringent environmental protection regulations.

2. Wide sources of raw materials and controllable costs

(1) Abundant raw materials: The main raw materials are agricultural and forestry waste. These raw materials can be obtained and stably supplied at farms or rural cooperatives, and can even be "turned into treasure", reducing the impact of landfill or incineration on the environment. 

 (2) Cost advantage: The raw materials are mostly agricultural and forestry waste, and the procurement cost is relatively low. In addition, some regions provide subsidies for biomass energy projects, further reducing production and use costs. Compared with other energy sources such as natural gas and fuel oil, biomass energy has economic benefits.                                                                                                                               

3. High combustion efficiency and high energy utilization

(1) High density: Straw pellets are compressed and molded, and their density is significantly higher than that of logs or sawdust (usually 1.1-1.3 tons/cubic meter). They are not easy to loosen during combustion, the combustion state is stable, and the flame lasts for a long time. High thermal efficiency (usually up to 85% or more, while bulk straw is only 40%-50%).

(2) Stable combustion: The pellets are regular in shape and uniform in size, which facilitates automatic feeding and combustion control. They can be precisely adjusted with the matching pellet stove to reduce energy waste and are suitable for applications that require a stable heat source.

4. Convenient storage and transportation

Small volume: The volume of compressed pellets is only 1/5-1/8 of the original sawdust, which significantly saves storage space. They can be stored in bags or in bulk without the need for special storage facilities and are suitable for various environments such as homes and businesses. Low transportation cost: High density makes the transportation energy per unit volume higher, thereby improving transportation efficiency and reducing transportation costs. In addition, the pellets are moisture-proof (some products are treated with moisture-proof treatment), which can minimize losses during transportation.                                             

5. Diverse application scenarios

(1) Civilian use: It can be used for home heating and cooking (for example, using pellet fireplaces and pellet stoves). It is easy to operate and clean, and can replace traditional coal and firewood to improve the indoor environment.

(2) Industrial application: It can be used as boiler fuel to provide steam or hot water for factories, hotels and hospitals. In the agricultural field, it can be used for greenhouse heating and drying agricultural products (such as grains and medicinal herbs).

(3) Power generation: Biomass power plants can use it as fuel, mixed with coal, or burned alone to generate electricity, contributing to the transformation of the energy structure.

The core value of straw biomass pellets lies in their excellent energy supply. Their energy properties are reflected in the following aspects:   

 1. Calorific Value (Energy Density)

The calorific value of straw pellets typically ranges from 15-19 MJ/kg (megajoules per kilogram), with the specific value affected by the type of raw material, moisture content, and processing method.

Higher Calorific Value: Including the latent heat of water evaporation, approximately 18-20 MJ/kg.

Lower Calorific Value: Excluding the energy of water evaporation, approximately 15-17 MJ/kg.

Pelletization significantly increases the calorific value of straw, bringing it close to that of high-quality coal (approximately 20-25 MJ/kg).

2. Combustion Characteristics

Ignition Point: Approximately 250-300°C, lower than that of raw straw (uncompressed).

Combustion Efficiency: After pelletization, combustion efficiency can reach over 85%, with low residual ash content (typically less than 10%). Volatile Matter Content: Approximately 60-75%. Combustion easily releases combustible gases, promoting complete combustion.

3. Energy Density, Storage, and Transportation

Pelletization increases volumetric energy density by 3-5 times, facilitating storage, transportation, and large-scale applications (such as boiler fuel).

Moisture Control: The moisture content after processing is typically less than 10%, significantly reducing transportation costs and the risk of mold.

4. Renewable Energy Properties

Carbon Neutral: The CO₂ released during combustion is essentially balanced by the CO₂ absorbed during plant growth, meeting low-carbon and environmental requirements.

Sustainable Raw Materials: Utilizing agricultural waste (such as corn stalks and rice straw) as raw materials reduces incineration pollution and enables resource recycling.

Ash Composition: Primarily contains minerals such as potassium and calcium, and can be recycled as fertilizer.
