1. The working principle of  wet straw biomass pellet processing equipment

Straw pellet machine is a machine that compresses various types of biomass waste, such as straw, rice husk, sawdust, wood chips, etc., into a shaped fuel with a certain shape and high density by mechanical pressure. After the raw materials are extruded and formed, the density can reach 0.8-1.3t/m³, the energy density is equivalent to that of medium-quality coal, and the combustion characteristics are significantly improved.

3.Drying Process: 

A.This process is mainly used to dry the straw dust from 30-35% to 10-15%.  B.Capacity: 12-14 Ton/Hour.

Operation and marketing of the project of processing wet straw into biomass pellets

1. Production operation: control cost and quality

The core of the production process is to balance "pellet quality" and "operating cost" to avoid losses due to improper operation.

(1) Cost control: The energy consumption of the drying process accounts for 40%-50% of the total energy consumption. It can be equipped with a biomass burner (using crushed materials or unqualified pellets as fuel) to reduce drying costs; in terms of labor, a medium-sized production line can be equipped with 3-5 people (responsible for raw material acceptance, equipment inspection, and finished product packaging) to reduce labor expenses.

(2) Quality control: Strictly control the moisture content of the straw after drying to 10%-15% (too high moisture content will cause the pellets to break easily, too low moisture content will cause high energy consumption), maintain the molding pressure at 30-100MPa, ensure that the pellet density is ≥1.1g/cm³ and the length is 5-15mm, which meets the industrial fuel procurement standards.

2. Marketing: Clearly define the profit outlet

Sales are the key to project profitability. Target customers must be locked in advance to avoid backlog of finished products. 

(1) Core customer types: Local industrial enterprises: such as food factories, building materials factories, and livestock farms, which use biomass pellets as a boiler fuel to replace coal and can sign long-term supply agreements (usually settled on a quarterly or annual basis). Biomass power plants/heating companies: These customers purchase in large quantities but have high requirements for pellet quality. They need to submit samples for inspection in advance to be included in the supplier list. Farmers/small users: They sell to surrounding farmers for home heating or cooking. They can adopt a "bag retail" model to increase local market penetration.

(2) Pricing strategy: Based on local coal and natural gas prices, the price of pellets is usually 80%-90% of coal, ensuring price advantages while reserving a 15%-20% gross profit margin.

The combustion characteristics of straw biomass pellet fuel: high efficiency, low pollution, and suitable for clean fuel demands

As an energy product, its combustion characteristics directly determine its usage value and is the core competitiveness for replacing traditional fossil fuels.

1. High combustion efficiency: 

The pellet structure is compact, and during combustion, air and fuel come into contact more fully, with combustion efficiency reaching over 85%, much higher than loose straw (about 50%) and ordinary coal (about 70%). For example, in heating, 1 ton of pellets provides the same heating effect as 1.2 tons of coal, reducing fuel consumption by 20%.

2. Low pollution emissions:

 Straw itself has extremely low sulfur content (typically <0.1%), and sulfur dioxide emissions during combustion are only 1/10 of those from coal; nitrogen oxide emissions are more than 50% lower than those from coal, and there is no black smoke or irritating odor. At the same time, the carbon dioxide produced by pellet combustion belongs to the "carbon cycle" (straw grows and absorbs CO₂, and then releases CO₂ during combustion), which complies with the "dual carbon" policy requirements and can effectively reduce carbon emissions.

3. Stable calorific value and easy control: 

The lower calorific value of pellets is usually 15-18 MJ/kg, with a small fluctuation range (±5%), while the calorific value of loose straw is greatly affected by moisture (±20%). The stable calorific value enables industrial boilers, drying equipment, etc. to precisely control temperature, avoiding production accidents or quality problems caused by fluctuating calorific value.
