1. The working principle of dried straw biomass pellet processing equipment
(1) Pretreatment: Crushing and screening to solve the "morphology" problem
The moisture content of dry straw has reached the standard (usually 10%-15%). The core of pretreatment is to optimize the physical form of the material and prepare for molding.
Dry straw (such as corn stalks and wheat straw) is crushed into fine fibrous materials using a hammer mill. Dry straw is brittle and easier to crush than wet straw, with lower energy consumption and easier to control the uniformity of the material.
(2) Molding: High-pressure extrusion to complete "granulation"
This is the core part of the equipment. The loose material is squeezed into granules of a fixed shape through mechanical high pressure.
The roller in the granulation chamber presses the material tightly against a ring die with a die hole (diameter 6-12mm). Under the action of high pressure, the material is squeezed into the die hole to form a continuous cylindrical strip. Dry straw has less friction, and some equipment will appropriately increase the roller pressure to ensure the molding density.
2. Characteristics of dried straw biomass pellet processing equipment
(1) No drying system, reducing equipment investment and floor space:
The equipment does not need to be equipped with large drying devices such as drum dryers and hot air furnaces. The overall production line structure is simpler, the initial equipment procurement cost is reduced by 30%-40%, and the plant floor space required for the drying system is saved.
(2) Low grinding difficulty and lower energy consumption:

(3) Wear-resistant design of forming parts:
Since dry straw does not contain too much moisture, the friction between the material and the mold and roller is more intense during extrusion. The core components of the equipment (such as ring die and roller) are mostly made of high-hardness alloy (such as Cr12MoV) or surface hardened, and the service life is 15%-20% longer than that of the forming parts of wet straw equipment.

Storage Advantages of Straw Pellets
The pellet form fundamentally solves the problems of traditional straw feed: difficult storage and expensive transportation, significantly reducing back-end costs for farms.
1. High Density, Less Storage Space:
The pellet density reaches 0.8-1.0g/cm³, 10-15 times that of loose straw. One ton of pellets requires only 1.2-1.5m³ of storage space, saving over 80% of warehouse space compared to loose straw. They are particularly suitable for small and medium-sized farms with limited space.
2. Moisture-Resistant, Long Shelf Life:
The pellet surface is firm and smooth, making it less susceptible to moisture absorption. Under dry and ventilated conditions, it can be stored for 6-12 months. Loose straw, on the other hand, can easily become moldy and spoil after just one to two months. This prevents livestock and poultry diseases (such as enteritis) and feed waste caused by moldy feed.
3. Low transportation loss and cost savings:
