1. The working principle of dried sunflower husk biomass pellet processing equipment

The dried sunflower husks themselves meet the moisture requirements for molding. Their ability to bond and form depends mainly on two core mechanisms:

(1) High-pressure physical extrusion: The enormous pressure of the pellet mill's rollers and ring die compresses the cellulose, hemicellulose, and other components in the seed shells into a compact state, forming a physical bond and preventing the particles from becoming loose.

(2) Frictional heat softening of lignin: During the extrusion process, the friction between the material and the die and rollers generates heat exceeding 100°C, softening the lignin in the seed shells and creating stickiness, acting as a "natural adhesive" to further enhance the hardness and firmness of the particles.

2. Characteristics of dried sunflower husk biomass pellet processing equipment

(1) High adaptability: This equipment is suitable for pressing materials that are difficult to bind and shape, such as rice husks, sunflower seed shells, peanut shells, and various fruit and vegetable shells, as well as various wood scraps such as branches, trunks, and bark.

(2) Reasonable structural design: The mold is vertical, allowing for vertical feeding, preventing arching and facilitating heat dissipation. The mold is stationary while the pressure roller rotates, causing the material to be centrifugally distributed evenly around the perimeter. The mold has two layers, allowing for dual-use operation, resulting in high output and energy saving.

(3) Guaranteed pellet forming rate: Separate lubrication and high-pressure filtration ensure clean and unobstructed flow. A separate frequency converter guarantees the pellet forming rate.

(4) High degree of automation: The equipment uses automatic feeding, eliminating the need for manual labor and reducing customer labor cost

3. Application scenarios of dried sunflower husk biomass pellet processing equipment

The physical morphology and composition of sunflower husk biomass pellets give them superior combustion efficiency and stability compared to traditional bulk biomass fuel:

1. High Energy Density: 

After extrusion molding, the pellet density can reach 1.1-1.3 g/cm³, which is 6-8 times that of bulk sunflower husks (density approximately 0.15-0.2 g/cm³). This results in higher energy output for the same volume and lower storage and transportation costs (each ton of pellets has only 1/6 the volume of bulk sunflower seed shells).

2. More Complete Combustion:

The uniform and dense pellet structure reduces the likelihood of bridging and slagging during combustion. Thermal efficiency can reach over 85%, a 40% improvement over the combustion efficiency of bulk sunflower seed shells (approximately 60%), reducing fuel waste and lowering actual operating costs. 

3. Stable and easy-to-control combustion: 

The flame is stable and the calorific value is uniform during pellet combustion (low calorific value of about 16-18 MJ/kg, close to that of medium-quality coal). The combustion intensity can be precisely controlled by adjusting the feeding speed. It is compatible with various equipment such as biomass boilers, fireplaces, and generators, without the need for major modifications to the original equipment.
