1. The working principle of dried hay/grass/alfalfa biomass pellet processing equipment

Dried grass pellet processing equipment primarily consists of a crusher, pulverizer, dryer, pelletizer, cooler, and packaging machine. First, the baled wet grass is broken up using a crusher. A high-efficiency pulverizer then pulverizes the material into sawdust.  The dried material is then fed into a biomass pellet machine, where it is extruded into pellets using a die and rollers. A pellet cooler then cools the pellets, saving space and processing time while making them easier to package and transport. Finally, a packaging machine packages the cooled pellets for easy storage and transportation.

2. Characteristics of dried hay/grass/alfalfa biomass pellet processing equipment

(1) Streamlined Process: Pre-treatment equipment focuses on "cleaning + crushing". The dry hay/grass/alfalfa already meets moisture standards, eliminating the need for drying equipment. The pre-treatment process is simpler, and the equipment design emphasizes impurity removal and material refinement.

(2) Pellet Machine: The core is a ring die pelletizer with a longer ring die life. The forming rate is higher.

(3) Cooling and Screening Equipment:No need for significant dehumidification (only moisture content needs to be stabilized at 10%-15%), resulting in lower fan energy consumption.

3. Application scenarios of dried hay/grass/alfalfa biomass pellet processing equipment

Dried grass pellet processing equipment is mainly used in three scenarios: large-scale animal husbandry, agricultural waste resource utilization, and biomass energy production. The core function is to convert dried grass into pellets that are easy to use, store, or transport. 

(1) Feed preparation for large-scale animal husbandry In large-scale farms for herbivorous animals such as cattle, sheep, and rabbits, this equipment can directly process fresh grass and silage dried grass into pellet feed. Pellets are small in size, which is convenient for centralized storage and precise feeding in farms, reducing feed waste during transportation and feeding. Conditioning during the pelleting process can improve the palatability and digestibility of grass feed, helping to improve breeding efficiency. 

(2) Resource utilization of agricultural waste The equipment can convert dried grass agricultural waste generated after harvesting into usable pellet products. The processed pellets can be used as supplementary feed for ruminants, realizing "turning waste into treasure" and reducing breeding costs. They can also be used as raw materials for organic fertilizers, and after subsequent fermentation treatment, they are returned to farmland to reduce environmental problems caused by straw burning. 

(3) Production of Biomass Energy Pellets

In the field of biomass energy, equipment can process dried herbaceous plants with suitable moisture content into biomass pellet fuel.

The formed pellet fuel has high density and stable combustion efficiency, and can replace coal in small boilers, home heating stoves, and other applications.

Compared to loose wet grass, pellet fuel is easier to transport over long distances and store for extended periods, reducing energy transportation and storage costs.

A.The process is mainly used to grind dried hay/grass/alfalfa within 1.8m in diameter into dried hay/grass/alfalfa pieces. 1. Appearance of Dried Hay/Grass/Alfalfa Pellets

Dried Hay/Grass/Alfalfa pellets are cylindrical, with a smooth, slightly glossy surface, a density greater than 1, a grayish-yellow color, an outer diameter of 6-9 meters, and a length of 10-36 mm.

2. Calorific Value of Dried Hay/Grass/Alfalfa

The calorific value per unit mass of Dried Hay/Grass/Alfalfa pellets refers to the amount of heat released during complete combustion. Due to their high density and high combustion efficiency, Dried Hay/Grass/Alfalfa pellets can reach a core temperature of 1100°C during combustion, a calorific value of 3700-4000 kcal/kg, a density of 1.1 tons/cubic meter, and an ash content of less than 8%, demonstrating their distinct advantages over coal and oil.

3. Complete Combustion with Low Residual Ash

Dried Hay/Grass/Alfalfa pellets retain their shape and consistency during combustion, remaining easy to burn. Due to high-pressure molding, the pellets have a high density, making them resistant to combustion and high temperatures. Combined with proper air distribution and ample oxygen supply, secondary combustion is possible, resulting in zero pollution and high fuel efficiency. Compared to coal, they produce less residual ash, which can be directly returned to the fields as potash fertilizer, making them an ideal clean energy source.

Because the volume of Wet Hay/Grass/Alfalfa pellets is compressed by nearly nine times after being made into pellets, they are easy to transport and store, significantly reducing storage and transportation costs. Dried Hay/Grass/Alfalfa pellet fuel is resistant to mold growth in summer, is flame-retardant, and easy to store for long periods, making it suitable as a reserve fuel for disaster prevention and mitigation.
