1. The working principle of wet bamboo biomass pellet processing equipment
(1) Pretreatment unit - solving the problem of "bamboo morphology and fiber toughness" Fresh wet bamboo has a hard texture, long fibers and strong toughness. Directly entering the drying or molding equipment will cause blockage and soaring energy consumption. It must first pass through the pretreatment equipment "crushing - fine crushing" to convert it into fine and uniform raw materials, paving the way for subsequent drying and compression.
(2) Drying unit - solving the problem of "high moisture content in bamboo" Wet bamboo materials (if directly compressed, will cause the pellets to mold easily after molding, have low strength, and the moisture cannot be discharged during compression, causing the pellets to crack). The core of the drying unit is to reduce the moisture content of the bamboo material to 10%-15% (the optimal moisture content for molding). The commonly used equipment is a "drum dryer".
(3) Molding Unit - Solving the Problem of "Compressing Bamboo Powder into Pellets"
The dried bamboo powder (moisture content 10%-15%) needs to be converted into high-density (1.1-1.3g/cm³) and easy-to-store biomass pellets through "extrusion molding". The core equipment is the ring die pellet machine (the molding equipment that is best suited to the high fiber properties of bamboo).
2. Characteristics of wet bamboo biomass pellet processing equipment
(1) Crushing process: Various types of equipment are suitable for different processing needs. Bamboo crushers are divided into hammer type and multifunctional type, which can process materials into standardized particles of 2-5mm, meeting the fineness requirements of industries such as biomass fuel and papermaking.
(2) Drying and molding: Connecting equipment ensures the quality of particles. The wet bamboo chips after crushing need to be reduced to 10-15% by drying unit, and then pressed by pellet machine and molded under high pressure. The drying equipment needs to be designed according to the high fiber characteristics of bamboo to ensure uniform evaporation of moisture; the molding equipment densifies the material into pellet fuel with a calorific value of 4000-4800kcal/kg through extrusion, and the ash content is controlled below 1%.
3. Application scenarios of wet bamboo biomass pellet processing equipment
(1) Small and medium-sized industrial enterprises: These include factories in food processing, textiles, chemicals, building materials, and other industries that require stable heat supply.
The production processes of these enterprises (such as food drying, textile printing and dyeing heating, and building material maintenance) require continuous consumption of heat energy. Although the calorific value of wet bamboo pellets (14-18MJ/kg) is lower than that of coal, its carbon emissions are only 1/10 of those of fossil fuels, and its sulfur and nitrogen emissions are extremely low, which complies with environmental protection policy requirements. Enterprises can introduce equipment (or purchase pellets from surrounding processing points) and use pellets as boiler fuel to reduce dependence on natural gas and coal and control energy costs.
(2) Biomass energy-related places: These include small and medium-sized biomass power plants and biomass heating stations. Biomass power plants require fuel with "regular shape and stable moisture content" (bulk material transportation efficiency is low and combustion is unstable). Wet bamboo processing equipment can process the purchased wet bamboo raw materials (bamboo branches, bamboo stalks, bamboo waste) into pellets. Some equipment also has a pre-drying unit that can reduce the moisture content of the raw materials to 20%-30%, meeting the power plant's requirements for fuel calorific value and combustion efficiency; biomass heating stations (serving industrial parks and centralized heating in villages and towns) can directly use wet bamboo pellets as a heat source to provide clean heating for surrounding users.
(3) Civilian clean heating/cooking scenarios: mainly in rural areas, homestays, and farmhouses in areas with rich bamboo resources. Centralized heating traditionally relies on burning loose coal and firewood, which is highly polluting and has low thermal efficiency. After simple drying, wet bamboo pellets can be burned in a dedicated biomass pellet stove. They are smokeless and odorless, easy to store, and suitable for cooking and heating in rural families.

A. This process is mainly used to storage the bamboo dust that comes out of the hammer mill.It is hydraulic galvanized storage bin which is more stalbe and bamboo dust in it is not easy to be blocked.

The core value of bamboo biomass pellets lies in their excellent energy supply. Their energy characteristics are reflected in the following aspects:
1. High calorific value and high combustion efficiency
Bamboo fibers have a high density (especially mature bamboo species such as moso bamboo and nanmu bamboo). After compression into pellets, the bulk density can reach 1.1-1.3g/cm³. The low calorific value is generally 18-20MJ/kg (approximately 4300-4800 kcal/kg), approaching that of medium-grade bituminous coal (approximately 20-25MJ/kg) and far exceeding straw pellets (14-16MJ/kg) and wood chip pellets (16-18MJ/kg). The pellets also have a dense structure, allowing for good air circulation during combustion, resulting in a heat conversion rate exceeding 85% and no noticeable black smoke. This avoids the problem of "strong fire but low thermal efficiency" associated with burning loose bamboo.
2. Low combustion residue and high ash utilization rate.
Bamboo has an extremely low ash content (typically only 0.5%-1.5%), far lower than coal (10%-30%) and straw (5%-8%). The resulting ash is small and rich in potassium, silicon, and other elements. It can be directly used as potash fertilizer for farmland or landscaping fertilizer, achieving a "energy-residue-agriculture" cycle and reducing solid waste disposal costs.
