(1)Core Forming: Fiber reorganization and densification through mechanical extrusion is a key step in converting wet wood chips into pellets. The core principle is "high-pressure extrusion + wood fiber self-bonding." Lignin (a natural adhesive that softens under pressure and frictional heat) in the wet wood chips works together with water to tightly bind the fibers, forming pellets with a fixed shape.

During the extrusion process, intense friction between the sawdust and the inner wall of the die and the surface of the rollers generates frictional heat of 60-90°C. This temperature softens the lignin in the wood chips (the softening point of lignin is approximately 70-100°C). Simultaneously, the water forms "liquid bridges" that bind the dispersed fibers together, providing a foundation for subsequent shaping.

2.Sawdust Storage Process:
A.This process is mainly used to storage the sawdust that comes out of the hammer mill.It is hydraulic galvanized storage bin which is more stalbe and sawdust in it is not easy to be blocked.

For example, in Europe, wood pellets have become a key fuel for power generation. Biomass pellets (i.e., wood pellets) processed from wood chips are a clean, renewable biomass energy product. Their energy advantages are primarily reflected in their high calorific value, easy combustion, and strong stability.
1.High density + high calorific value, high energy efficiency
After compression and pelletization, wood chips are significantly reduced in volume (density can reach 1.1-1.3 tons/m³, 4-5 times that of loose wood chips), while their energy density per unit volume is significantly increased (lower calorific value is approximately 4200-4800 kcal/kg, close to that of medium-quality coal). Heat release is concentrated during combustion, resulting in a thermal efficiency 30%-50% higher than directly burning loose wood chips. This makes them suitable for applications with stable heat demand (such as industrial boilers and biomass power generation).
2.Complete combustion and low pollutant emissions.
Wood pellets have a uniform structure and controllable moisture content (dried to 10%-15% during processing). They are not prone to charring during combustion and contain no harmful elements such as sulfur and phosphorus. Exhaust emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides after combustion are extremely low (far lower than those from coal combustion). Dust emissions can also be reduced to meet environmental standards with simple treatment.
3.Convenient storage and transportation, strong stability.
The pellets have a regular shape (mostly cylindrical, 6-10mm in diameter and 10-30mm in length) and good fluidity. They can be transported in bags or bulk, requiring only one-fifth the storage space of loose wood chips. Furthermore, the pellets have a low moisture content and are resistant to mold and mildew. They can be stored for 6-12 months, eliminating the need to worry about raw material deterioration.
