1. The working principle of wet bagasse biomass pellet processing equipment

(1) Heating and softening: During the pelletizing process, sugarcane bagasse is fed into the biomass pellet machine and heated to the softening point of lignin (120-160°C). At this temperature, lignin softens and becomes sticky, acting as a natural adhesive. Cellulose and hemicellulose act as a skeleton, combining with the softened lignin to form a stable pellet structure.

(2) Compression molding: In the biomass pellet machine, sugarcane bagasse powder is compressed into pellets under high temperature and pressure. The pressure and temperature control between the die and the rollers are key factors to ensure the density and strength of the pellets. The compression ratio of the ring die needs to be adjusted according to the characteristics of the raw material to obtain the best molding effect.

How to use the TONY pellet production line to make pellets from wet bagasse?

The process mainly includes the following steps and equipment:

1. Use TONY effective hammer mill to crush the slightly larger bagasse into 8-14 mm bagasse.If customer has enough Investment budget,he can also chose TONY Special Cutting Machine for bagasse which will be more expensive than the hammer mill.

2.Use TONY large hydraulic storage silo to storage  8-14 mm bagasse.

3.Use TONY rotary drum dryer to dry the bagasse with a 40% moisture content down to a moisture content of 10%-15%.

4.Use TONY vertical ring die pellet machine to produce pellets with a diameter of 6-8 mm.

5.Use TONY galvanized pellets cooler to cool the pellets from 80-90°C to 20-30°C.

2.Bagasse Storage Process:

A. This process is mainly used to storage the Bagasse that comes out of the hammer mill.It is hydraulic galvanized storage bin which is more stalbe and Bagasse in it is not easy to be blocked. 

B. The customer chooses TONY Brand Large Hydraulic Storage Silo to storage the Bagasse  that comes out of  the hammer mill.This process can be optional by customer.If customer do not chose the storage bin,he can storage the Bagasse on the ground directly which may need some labour.

3.Wet Bagasse Drying Process:

A.This process is mainly used to dry the bagasse  from 40% to 10-15%.

B.Capacity:28-35 Ton/Hour.

C.TONY use 5 sets of 2.2*24m  rotary drum dryer for this process, TONY hot blast stove is made of firebrick pan, shell with H steel plate as the frame.   There are 3 layers of fire blocking device inside, which can effectively prevent the fire from entering the tumble dryer.Customers can choose to use waste wood, biomass pellets, natural gas, etc. as fuel for the hot air furnace

TONY dryer use spiral tube material, and is not easy to deform.

Raw material advantages of the wet sugarcane bagasse biomass pellet project—significant cost advantages and a stable and easily accessible supply.

1. Nearly zero raw material cost:

Wet sugarcane bagasse is a waste product left by sugar mills after sugar production. Most mills provide this waste material free of charge or at a low price for disposal. This eliminates the high cost of raw material procurement and only requires a small transportation fee.

(1) Zero net carbon emissions The carbon dioxide absorbed during sugarcane growth is basically balanced with the carbon dioxide released during combustion, which is in line with the concept of "carbon neutrality". Compared with coal burning, it can reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by more than 90% and nitrogen oxide emissions by more than 70%, making it a high-quality alternative energy source for meeting the "dual carbon" goals. 

(2) Closed loop of solid waste resource utilization The ash after combustion is rich in potassium, calcium and other elements and can be used as organic fertilizer to return to farmland or sugarcane plantations, forming a circular economic chain of "sugarcane planting - sugar production - residue pelleting - combustion for heating - ash return to the field", reducing the overall carbon footprint of the industry. 

2. Economic and application characteristics: significant cost advantages and a wide range of application scenarios

(1) Controllable production costs Sugarcane bagasse raw materials are mostly by-products of sugar mills. The acquisition cost is low (nearly zero cost in some areas), and the processing process consumes less energy (mainly in the drying process). Compared with wood chip pellets and straw pellets, the market price of finished products is usually 10%-20% lower, which is very attractive to small and medium-sized enterprises, agricultural cooperatives and household users. 

(2) Flexible application scenarios Granular products are easy to store (can be stacked and take up only 1/3 of the space of loose bagasse) and transport (suitable for bagged or bulk transport). They can be directly used in industrial boilers (such as sugar mills for self-heating and power generation), commercial heating (such as hotels and greenhouses), home heating and biomass gasification power generation projects. Especially in the main sugarcane producing areas (such as Guangxi, Yunnan, Brazil, and India), "local materials and local applications" can be achieved, reducing transportation costs.
