1. The working principle of wet hay/grass/alfalfa biomass pellet processing equipment

Wet hay/grass/alfalfa (with a moisture content typically above 30%) cannot be directly pelletized. It must first undergo pretreatment to adjust its moisture content and physical properties, which is a prerequisite for ensuring pellet quality. The pretreated hay/grass/alfalfa fragments are then mechanically extruded through pelletizing equipment to transform them from "powder" to "pellets," which is the core of the entire process.

2. Characteristics of wet hay/grass/alfalfa biomass pellet processing equipment

3.Drying Process: 

A.This process is mainly used to dry the hay/grass/alfalfa dust from 30-35% to 10-15%.

(1).More efficient storage and transportation, reducing losses and costs

After extrusion, wet grass pellets are only 1/3-1/5 the volume of loose wet grass, and the density is increased to 1.1-1.3g/cm³. On the one hand, they do not require a large amount of space for storage, and the surface of the pellets is compact, which can resist mold erosion, and the storage period is extended to 6-12 months, which is much better than the 1-2 weeks of fresh wet grass. On the other hand, the unit vehicle load capacity is increased during transportation, and the logistics cost is reduced by 40%-60%, avoiding the scattering loss of loose wet grass during transportation.

(2).Diverse uses, taking into account both feed and energy needs

Wet grass pellets can be flexibly adapted to different scenarios and have strong compatibility. When used as feed, the conditioning treatment (high temperature, humidification) during the pelleting process can soften the fiber and improve the digestion and absorption rate of herbivorous animals. The pellet shape is convenient for precise feeding, reducing feed waste by 15%-20%. When used as biomass fuel, its calorific value is stable at 14-18MJ/kg, it burns fully, and the emission of smoke and harmful gases is much lower than that of coal.
