1. The working principle of wet EFB biomass pellet processing equipment

Wet EFB biomass pellet processing equipment is used to chop, crush, dry, and compress bunches of wet EFB and other biomass materials into pellet fuel. Its working principle is to first crush, pulverize, and dry the wet EFB through pre-processing equipment such as crushers, grinders, and dryers, and then press them into pellets in a pelletizer to produce pelletized biomass fuel that meets quality standards.

2. Characteristics of wet EFB biomass pellet processing equipment

(1) Full-process integration capability: The crushing and pelletizing equipment forms a continuous production line, covering the crushing, screening, pelletizing, cooling and other links of raw materials. It is suitable for a variety of biomass raw materials such as bamboo, straw, sawdust, FEB, etc. The finished products can be used in power generation, wood-based panels, papermaking and other fields.

(2) Environmental protection and economy: By processing agricultural and forestry waste such as wet EFB, resource waste is reduced. Pellet fuel has high combustion efficiency and low smoke, which is in line with the trend of energy conservation and environmental protection. 3. Application scenarios of wet EFB biomass pellet processing equipment

(1) Small and medium-sized industrial enterprises: including factories in industries such as food processing, textiles, chemicals, and building materials that require stable heat supply. The production processes of these enterprises (such as food drying, textile printing and dyeing heating, building materials maintenance, etc.) require continuous consumption of heat energy. Although the calorific value of wet EFB pellets (14-18MJ/kg) is lower than that of coal, its carbon emissions are only one-tenth of fossil fuels, and its sulfur and nitrogen emissions are extremely low, which meets the requirements of environmental protection policies. Enterprises can introduce equipment (or purchase pellets from surrounding processing points) and use pellets as boiler fuel to reduce dependence on natural gas and coal and control energy costs.                                                       

(2) Biomass energy-related places: including small and medium-sized biomass power plants, biomass heating stations, etc. Biomass power plants require fuel with "regular shape and stable moisture content" (bulk material transportation efficiency is low and combustion is unstable). Wet EFB processing equipment can process the purchased wet EFB raw materials into pellets. Some equipment is also equipped with a pre-drying device, which can reduce the moisture content of the raw materials to 10%-30%, meeting the power plant's requirements for fuel calorific value and combustion efficiency; biomass heating stations (serving industrial parks and township centralized heating) can directly use wet EFB pellets as a heat source to provide clean heating for surrounding users.

How to use the TONY pellet production line to make pellets from wet EFB?

The process mainly includes the following steps and equipment:

1. Use TONY comprehensive chipper to grind EFB Into 25-55mm palm fiber.  

2. Use TONY effective hammer mill to crush the 25-55 mm palm fiber into 8-14 mm palm dust.If customer has enough Investment budget,he can also chose TONY special cutting machine for palm silk which will be more expensive than the hammer mill.

3. Use TONY rotary drum dryer to dry the palm dust with a 40% moisture content down to a moisture content of 10%-15%.

4. Use TONY vertical ring die pellet machine to produce pellets with a diameter of 6-8 mm.

5. Use TONY galvanized pellets cooler to cool the pellets from 80-90°C to 20-30°C.

6. Use TONY semi - automatic packing machine to pack the pellets into bags, each weighing 15-50 kg.

A.This process is mainly used to dry the palm dust  from 40% to 10-15%.

Palm particles are oily and large, composed of cellulose and hemicellulose lignin, containing carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, oxygen and other elements, and have a high water content of about 65%. The physical properties of palms make them valuable, but also make them difficult to exploit.

Utilization Rate Of Empty Palm Fruit Cluster

Traditionally, empty fruit bunches are not highly utilized and are usually used in the following ways:

1. Burn. Their ash is recycled as fertilizer for plantations, but large-scale burning is now not allowed.

2, Return to the field for use as mulch, not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions, but also reduces the need for artificial fertilizers by improving carbon sequestration in soil organic matter.

3. Some of the empty fruit bunches were sent to landfill land.

Due to the limitation of traditional utilization of empty palm fruit bunches, a large amount of palm biomass energy is wasted.
