1. The working principle of wet EFB biomass pellet processing equipment

Palm kernel pelletizing equipment is specialized machinery that transforms palm waste materials (such as palm shells, palm fibers, and palm kernel residue) into high-density biomass pellets.  Its core process involves three key steps: "raw material pretreatment → extrusion molding → cooling and shaping." Through physical compression and temperature control, this equipment transforms loose palm waste materials into pellets with a consistent shape and high calorific value.

How to use the TONY pellet production line to make pellets from wet EFB?

The process mainly includes the following steps and equipment:

1. Use TONY comprehensive chipper to grind EFB Into 25-55mm palm fiber.  

2. Use TONY effective hammer mill to crush the 25-55 mm palm fiber into 8-14 mm palm dust.If customer has enough Investment budget,he can also chose TONY special cutting machine for palm silk which will be more expensive than the hammer mill.

3. Use TONY rotary drum dryer to dry the palm dust with a 40% moisture content down to a moisture content of 10%-15%.

4. Use TONY vertical ring die pellet machine to produce pellets with a diameter of 6-8 mm.

5. Use TONY galvanized pellets cooler to cool the pellets from 80-90°C to 20-30°C.

6. Use TONY semi - automatic packing machine to pack the pellets into bags, each weighing 15-50 kg.

3.Wet Palm Dust Drying Process:

A.This process is mainly used to dry the palm dust  from 40% to 10-15%.

B.Capacity:2.8-3.2Ton/Hour.

C.TONY use 1 set of 1.8*15m  rotary drum dryer for this process, TONY hot blast stove is made of firebrick pan, shell with H steel plate as the frame.   There are 3 layers of fire blocking device inside, which can effectively prevent the fire from entering the tumble dryer.Customers can choose to use waste wood, biomass pellets, natural gas, etc. as fuel for the hot air furnace

Project Core Positioning: Turning Palm Waste into Value

This project focuses on the resource utilization of waste generated from palm oil plantations and processing plants.  Using palm shells, palm fibers, and palm kernel residue as raw materials, it processes these byproducts into high-density biomass pellets through specialized equipment. These pellets are then supplied to industrial boilers, biomass power plants, and commercial heating systems, creating a green economic model of "local resource utilization → nearby product supply → waste recycling."

Environmental Pain Point: Palm waste accumulation easily breeds pests and insects, polluting soil and water, and incurs high disposal costs (a palm oil factory in Indonesia spends over one million US dollars annually on landfill fees).

Energy Pain Point: The industrial sector urgently needs to transition from coal to clean energy; palm pellets have a calorific value of 18-20 MJ/kg (close to lignite) and an ash content of only 3%-5%, making them suitable for existing combustion equipment.

Energy Performance: High calorific value and stable combustion, suitable for various applications.

As a biomass fuel pellet, palm kernel pellets offer superior energy performance compared to most similar products.  Key advantages include:

High calorific value and density: The high lignification level of palm kernel fibers results in pellets with a calorific value of 4200-4800 kcal/kg, close to that of medium-grade coal (approximately 5000 kcal/kg).  The pellet density is ≥1.1 g/cm³, with high hardness and low breakage rate, resulting in a loss rate of less than 5% during storage and transportation (far lower than the 8%-10% of wood chip pellets).

Excellent combustion characteristics: Low ash content (only 2%-5%), much lower than that of straw pellets (8%-15%), reduces clinker formation and cleaning frequency in the furnace, lowering maintenance costs.  Furthermore, it produces no sulfur or heavy metal emissions during combustion, releasing only the CO₂ absorbed during the raw material's growth, achieving carbon neutrality and meeting environmental emission standards.

Wide applicability: It can directly replace fossil fuels such as coal and natural gas for use in industrial boilers (e.g., for food processing and dyeing plant heating), biomass power plants, and home fireplaces, requiring minimal modifications to existing equipment and resulting in low conversion costs.
