The equipment overcomes this challenge through two key technological principles. After drying, the wet hazelnut husk reaches the required moisture content, maintaining a slight stickiness. Combined with the high-pressure extrusion of the pellet mill, this process tightly binds the cellulose and hemicellulose within the material. Furthermore, the extrusion friction generates heat exceeding 100°C, softening the lignin in the hazelnut husk and forming a "natural binder," ultimately ensuring the hardness and firmness of the pellets.
2. Characteristics of wet hazelnut husk biomass pellet processing equipment
(1) Rotary drum dryer:It adopts a "multi-stage temperature control + counter-current heat exchange" structure. The front section uses hot air to quickly evaporate surface moisture, the middle section slowly dries internal moisture, and the rear section cools and shapes the material, ensuring the moisture content is accurately reduced to 10-15%. This prevents the wet hazelnut shells from becoming "dry on the outside and wet on the inside" or carbonizing due to high-temperature baking. Additionally, the inner wall of the dryer is coated with an anti-stick coating to reduce clumping of wet materials.
(2) Pellet machine: High pressure + anti-sticking die: The pellet machine pressure rollers feature a "textured surface" design to increase friction with the material and prevent slippage of wet materials (or conditioned materials). The ring die is made of wear-resistant alloy steel, and the inner wall of the die hole is nitrided (increasing hardness by more than 30%), extending service life and reducing equipment maintenance time. The pressure of the pressure rollers can be increased to ensure that coarse fiber materials are fully compressed and shaped.
