Have you been replacing your biomass pellet machines one after another, but the pellet production capacity still hasn't improved? To make good biomass pellets, apart from choosing a good biomass pellet machine, you also need to know the following.

1. Buying a refurbished machine?

Some merchants choose to use refurbished or second-hand goods as brand new ones for sale. As a novice in this industry, you may have bought a refurbished machine. How can you tell if the machine you bought is a refurbished one? Let me teach you a few tricks.

(1) Observe the working panel of the biomass pellet machine. If it is a second-hand one, scratches are difficult to repair and even refurbishment will leave some traces.

(2)Check the accessories on the pellet machine, such as the edges of the screws. If it is refurbished, repeated disassembly will leave marks on the screws, including cross-head screws.

(3)Check the plug-in positions of the latch. If it has been used, it will also leave marks.

(4)Check the corners of the biomass pellet machine. If the biomass pellet machine you bought is a second-hand refurbished one, simple cleaning cannot completely remove the particles, and there will be some fragmented particles on it.

2. Inappropriate raw materials?

(1)Size

When the biomass pellet machine is pelletizing, there are certain requirements for the size of the raw materials. Raw materials that are too large or too small will affect the output and quality of the biomass fuel pellet machine, and even cause no output or fail to reach the expected output. Generally, the size of the raw materials must be less than 4MM, but the specific crushing size depends on the size of the desired pellet diameter.

(2)Moisture content of raw materials

When pelletizing biomass, there are strict requirements for the moisture content of the raw materials. No matter which type of raw material it is, the moisture content must be controlled between 10% and 15%. The higher the quality of the particles, the higher the requirements for the raw materials. If the moisture content is too low, it may cause dry-in and dry-out, and the particles may not be formed; if the moisture content is too high, the particles will be prone to breaking or becoming loose.

(3)Composition of raw materials

The biomass pellet machine can mix different raw materials for pelletizing. The biomass pellet machine is not limited to using only one type of wood chips to make pellets. It can also mix other types of wood chips or coarse fiber wood chips, or mix agricultural waste, fruit shells, peanut shells, rice straw, etc. However, adding other materials may have a certain impact on the quality of the generated biomass pellets.

3. Maintenance done?

Like all machines, biomass pellet machine also need to be regularly inspected, cleaned, lubricated, adjusted, or replaced with worn parts as time goes by. But not everyone knows how to do maintenance properly. Here are some common misunderstandings about the daily maintenance of biomass pellet machines:

(1)The more lubricating oil added to the gearbox, the better

Adding an appropriate amount of oil can provide better maintenance for the equipment. If added too much, it will have certain side effects, such as poor lubrication or bearing damage.

Like all machines, biomass pellet machines also need to be regularly inspected, cleaned, lubricated, adjusted or replaced with worn parts as time goes by. But not everyone knows how to do maintenance properly.

(2) Any lubricating oil is suitable for biomass pellet machines

The additives in various lubricants are different, and their performance is also different. Therefore, it is necessary to choose the appropriate lubricant based on the equipment situation and usage environment to achieve the lubrication effect.

(3)Used waste oil can be reused Remember not to directly pour waste oil into the biomass pellet machine. Doing so will not provide any lubrication effect but will instead cause greater damage to the equipment.
