Wood  pellets, also known as biomass fuel pellets, are mainly processed from pine, fir, birch, poplar, fruit wood and crop straw as raw materials. They are used for combustion, barbecue and fireplace heating. The combustion efficiency exceeds 80% (more than the efficiency of burning about 60% of ordinary coal) and produces high combustion efficiency, and there is less sulfur dioxide, ammonia nitrogen compounds and dust.

Of course, there are many requirements to make wood pellets. It is not that you can directly granulate by buying a pellet machine equipment, but you need to pay attention to many aspects and prepare all aspects to produce wood pellets.

1. Strict water requirements

The moisture content of the raw materials of the sawdust pellet machine is strictly required. No matter which kind of sawdust, the moisture content must be kept within a range (preferably between 14% and 20%). If it is too dry, it will be unformed and will easily loosen when the moisture is large.

2. The adhesion of the material itself

The raw materials themselves must have adhesive strength. If not, the product pressed by the sawdust pellet machine will either be unformed or loose and easily broken. Therefore, if you see that materials that have no adhesiveness can be pressed into particles or blocks, the raw materials must be fermented, or they are fermented or adhesives are added.

3. Is it necessary to add adhesive?

It is enough to make pure sawdust, and no other adhesive is required, because sawdust are a crude fiber raw material and have a certain adhesion. After compression by the sawdust pellet machine, it can naturally form and will be very strong. The pressure on the pellet machine is very high.

4. Is it okay to doze different types of sawdust?

It is said that pure sawdust are not that they cannot be mixed with other varieties of sawdust. All kinds of sawdust, wood shavings, sawdust, mahogany, and poplar wood are all fine, and the furniture factory's discarded scraps are also fine. More broadly, crop straw and peanut shells can all be used as raw materials for sawdust pellet machines. Of course, the particles made can not be called wood pellets, but straw pellets.

5. The size of raw materials after crushing

Raw materials such as sawdust, branches, etc. must be crushed by a crusher before they can be granulated. The size of the crushing shall be determined based on the expected particle diameter and the size of the particle mold hole. Too big or too small will affect the yield and even cause no output.

6. Mold of raw materials

The raw materials change moldy and turn black. The cellulose in the sawdust is decomposed by microorganisms and cannot be pressed into qualified particles. If it is necessary to use it, it is recommended to add more than 50% fresh sawdust raw materials to mix them, otherwise it will not be pressed into qualified particles.
