Wood pellet machines are core devices that convert forestry and agricultural "waste" (such as sawdust, straw, and branches) into clean "energy" (biomass pellet fuel). They play a key role in resource recycling and energy transition.
Core Working Principle: Condensing "Waste" into "Energy"
The core principle of a wood pellet machine is to convert loose wood waste into high-density pellets through mechanical extrusion. The specific process is as follows:
1.Raw Material Pretreatment:
First, raw materials such as sawdust and straw are crushed and dried (moisture content controlled at 10%-15%) to ensure uniform and dry particle size, laying the foundation for subsequent molding.

2.Extrusion:
The pretreated raw materials are fed into the pellet machine's feed inlet and then into the pelletizing chamber via a screw conveyor. Inside the pelletizing chamber, the rollers and the ring die (or flat die) move at high speed relative to each other, squeezing the raw materials into the die holes of the ring die. High-temperature curing: During the extrusion process, the raw material is subjected to tremendous pressure and friction, raising its temperature to 100-120°C. This softens the lignin in the wood fibers and acts as a bond, compressing the raw material into cylindrical pellets within the die.
3.Cooling and cutting:
After being extruded through the die, the formed pellets are cut into fixed lengths (typically 6-10 mm) by a cutting device. They are then cooled to room temperature by a cooling system, ultimately becoming biomass pellets with high hardness and density (approximately 1.1-1.3 g/cm³).
The value of wood pelletizing equipment lies not only in converting physical "waste" into "energy," but also in promoting the transition from a "linear economy" to a "circular economy." It transforms previously unused agricultural and forestry waste into a vital component of the energy system.
