The vertical ring die wood pellet machine is a product specifically designed for biomass fuel pellets. Although the horizontal ring die wood pellet machine has always been the best equipment for making feed pellets, using it for biomass fuel is not a dedicated machine for a specific purpose. Now, let me introduce the advantages and disadvantages of these two pellet machines:

1. Feed-in method:

The horizontal ring die pellet machine has the dies placed vertically, from top to bottom, and then rotates 90 degrees to enter the pellet die.

The vertical ring die pellet machine has the dies placed horizontally, with the opening facing upwards, and the feed goes directly into the pellet die from top to bottom.

Because sawdust is very light in weight, it is not easy to make a turn. While the vertical ring die is straight up and down, the sawdust enters and is then rotated by the pressure wheel to be spread evenly around, and pressed into pellets.

2. Pressing method:

The horizontal ring die pellet machine has the dies rotating while the pressure wheel remains stationary. It rotates at high speed, and the pellets follow the rotation of the dies. The pellets are easily broken and crushed, resulting in a large number of uneven-sized pellets or powder.

The vertical ring die pellet machine has the pressure wheel rotating while the dies remain stationary. The pellets are not crushed again. Therefore, the pellets produced by our pellet machine are of uniform length with almost no powder, and 99% of the formation is achieved.

3. Machine structure:

The pelletizing chamber of the horizontal ring die pellet machine is sealed. During the pressing process, the sawdust pellets will experience high temperatures due to compression. In the sealed pelletizing chamber, the temperature gradually increases. High temperatures cause the ring dies to frequently damage the bearings. The bearings are the core of the machine, replacing them will increase costs, reduce output, and waste production time. Customers have reported that the pressure wheels of the horizontal ring die need to be replaced every 3-5 days.

The vertical ring die pellet machine has an upward-opened structure, which is conducive to heat dissipation. It also comes with a set of dust removal system, allowing the pellet machine to operate under a stable temperature. The large pressure wheels also have 3 rows of bearings, which automatically lubricate. Therefore, the pressure wheels of the vertical ring die need to be replaced 3-5 times a year.

4. Equipment operation:

The dies of the horizontal ring die pellet machine are placed vertically on the edge of the machine, supported by a large shaft at one end. Such a large die is heavy at one end, and its bearings can be imagined to bear a great deal of pressure and torque. Therefore, it is easily damaged. The vertical ring die pellet machine uses the pressure wheel to rotate to separate the materials and evenly distribute them to both sides of the die, without causing material imbalance or vibration. Plus, the entire rotating parts of the vertical ring die pellet machine are precisely balanced, and its own weight ensures that there is no vibration beyond half a meter.

5. Equipment stability:

Since the dies of the horizontal ring die pellet machine are placed vertically on the edge of the machine, when the feed is uneven, the materials will accumulate at the bottom of the die due to the force of gravity. The top of the die basically only has the material scraped onto it by the scraper, and it cannot be fully pressed into the die by the pressure wheel. Therefore, the effective working surface of the die is only half in operation. Moreover, vibration occurs, damaging the bearings. Due to the accumulation of materials at the bottom, the machine often malfunctions.

The vertical ring die pellet machine has a vertically extended shaft, a large cast steel bearing seat, and its three rows of large bearings do not bear any pressure. Obviously, they are not prone to damage and have a long lifespan.
